The Glengyle distillery which makes Kilkerran reopened in 2004 after being closed for almost 80 years. It is next door to Springbank, and is made by the Springbank team and  only distilled for 3 months of the year.

The gently peated Kilkerran 12 Year sees 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks. You can expect aromas of cherry, lemon meringue and a dash of coastal peat on the nose, rounded textures, gentle heat, butterscotch, shortbread biscuit and honeycomb.
